Friday Fill-In #132

Just for fun, here's my entry for this week's prompt. The prompts are in bold, and my answers are in italics.

1. The last thing I ate was
a cupful of Cheerios and some cut-up cantaloupe for breakfast. (CTRL-click here to read “Making Up Time: An Advisory Ode.”)

2.
A new digital camera is something I recently bought. (CTRL-click here to read” Choosing and Using a Digital Camera.”)

3. When it rained, it
flooded our entire basement. We now find ourselves in the middle of a complete reconstruction project. (CTRL-click here to read the story: “Soggy Stuff and Sure Enough.”)

4. The veterinarian was the first person I talked to today. My teen’s puppy, the contraband canine, will need a costly surgery. Aaaaargh! (CTRL-click here to read “Furry Flurry: On One Who Drools Against the Rules.”)

5. Hugs are
happy. Someone has said the average person needs a dozen hugs a day for overall health. Who knows where that came from? My favorite hugs come from my horse, of course. Hey, who said huggers have to be human? (CTRL-click here to read “Royalty Spoilty: Limericked Joy for a Favorite Boy.”)

Of course, the worst kind of hug is the M.S. hug. Does anyone know how that feels? It gives chest pains a whole new dimension. (CTRL-click here to read “No MiStake.”)

6.
P.J. pants offer extra comfort. ’Nuff said.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to grabbing some sunshine and losing a headache. (CTRL-click here to read “Headache Helpers.”)

Tomorrow my plans include gardening, horseback riding and a local fair. (CTRL-click here to read “Don’t Smile at Me That Way” on a trip to the county fair.)

Sunday, I want to go to a horse expo. (CTRL-click here to read “Copper Champion.”)

Et Cetera

Posted for Friday Fill-ins (#80) and Meme Express (“Et Cetera”).

Et Ceteras

(The prompts are in bold, and my responses are in italics.)

1. Oh, I can't wait until I have a good night’s sleep. (See “An Uninvited Guest” for specifics.)

2. Mysteries of the universe are the first things I see when I open my refrigerator. (See “Fridge Space” for more details, if you dare.)

3. I never leave home without my wallet . . . although I did so today. I drove all over town . . . even across state lines . . . without it. I’m glad I wasn’t stopped by a traffic officer for any reason. Guess I had no danger of identity theft today! (See “Identity Theft: the Ultimate Identity Crisis.”)

4. If I were a condiment, I would be pickle relish because I seem to relish getting into one pickle or another. Thank God for my garden, which offers “My Therapy.”

5. Rude drivers (particularly tailgaters) are really high up on my list of pet peeves. (See “Turning Off Tailgaters” to see what I mean.)

6. The last thing I thought of before I went to bed was “I wonder if the power will go off again tonight . . . and it did! (Read “Offline . . . on Cloud Nine” to see how this works.)

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to finishing a good book I’ve been reading. Tomorrow my plans include a family get-together for a niece’s birthday party, and Sunday, I want to get to church and ride a horse or two (hopefully, without falling off).

Just for Fun – A Friday-Fill-in (#73)

Just for Fun – A Friday-Fill-in (#73)

(The prompts are in bold, and my responses are in italics.)

  1. On my laziest day I like to curl up with a lovely novel. (Of course, such days are rare and to be treasured.

  1. Hearing my computer printer humming merrily away makes me feel like I'm being productive.

  1. I love little gummy bears and big bowls of fresh, hot popcorn (not necessarily together).

  1. This summer I want to ride my young half-Arabian colt. Soon I will!

  1. Creative curiosity made me start my blog.

  1. “Red and orange do not go together, when it comes to fashion.” My mother told me that when I was a child. Of course, the sixties changed all that.

  1. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to the new Indiana Jones movie. (It’s our wedding anniversary, so a movie night is likely.) Tomorrow my plans include visiting family (and celebrate my brother’s birthday), and Sunday, I want to attend church, dig in my garden (planting impatiens) and give a few horses their long-overdue spring baths. (I simply love sunny Sundays.) As a bonus, Monday will be the Memorial Day holiday . . . no school or work. Aha!

Just for Fun – A Friday-Fill-in (#72)

Just for Fun – A Friday-Fill-in (#72)

After a sunny day, which proved to be extremely productive in the fray, the field and the family, this seemed like a fun exercise.

(The prompts are in bold, and my responses are in italics.)

  1. There is absolutely NO way you can get me to stop writing. I am a rabid writer, and I love to play with words. Want to see an example of this? Click here.

  1. My children remind me that summer is almost here! (School ends next week, and the countdown started months ago.)

  1. I cannot live without my Lord Jesus Christ. How I love Him with all my heart. And yet, He loves me even more. What a wonderful Savior. (“How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!” 1 John 3:1)

  1. Scuba-diving and helicopter flight are two things I'd like to try.

  1. When life hands you lemons, pucker up. (Why not?)

  1. Skiiing amid moguls is my favorite childhood memory. (At least, it’s one of my favorites. Gee, why did I think of winter sports on May 22nd, when it’s finally warm enough around here to go without an overcoat?)

  1. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to seeing my brother and sister-in-law, who are coming to town for a brief visit. Tomorrow my plans include writing, gardening, horseback riding and ground-training my colt and filly. Sunday, I want to attend church to worship the Lord and enjoy fellowship with friends.

Just for Fun – A Friday-Fill-in (#70)

(For Friday Fill-ins.)

Just for Fun – A Friday-Fill-in (#70)

(The prompts are in bold, and my responses are in italics.)

  1. Two of my favorite ingredients in a drink are chocolate and ice cream. Dessert in a glass – what could be better?

  1. The grace of God often amazes me. How many times have I stumbled and disappointed the Lord, but still He welcomes me with open arms!

  1. You can keep doing that forever. Don’t be afraid of our ferocious watchdog. The dog is barking at you because she is getting older, and she cannot hear as well as she used to.

  1. Take a few random-sounding words as a prompt, add some inspiration and imagery, mix it all together, and voila! You have free verse poetry!

  1. If I had a yard with a garden, I would love to grow plenty of daylilies, gladioli, peonies, tulips, violas and other favorite flowers. Oh, wait! I already do!

  1. Fresh fruit is best au naturel.

  1. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to the high school musical. Tomorrow my plans include barn chores and horseback riding. Sunday, I want to worship the Lord in church and perhaps clean out a closet.
