Please vote! Grocery Bag Poll

Is ecology on your shopping list?

Plenty of people are recycling at the grocery store these days. Environmentalists advise consumers to cease using disposable bags for food and other purchases. Choices abound for shoppers.

How do you bag your grocery purchase? Take our poll. Let’s find out what folks are doing.

Here’s another question. (Please feel free to leave a comment with your answer.)

If you do use store-bought reusable tote bags, how many do you have? From which stores?

Must you bring store-specific bags? For example, do you have Piggly-Wiggly bags for Piggly-Wiggly, Kroger bags for Kroger, Target bags for Target, and so on? (Recycling could be a little pricey.)

We have heard of more than one instance, in which major grocery chain stores have actually distributed free reusable bags to certain customers, simply to prevent them from using other brand-name bags in their stores. Have you ever experienced this?

  2. Thanks for stopping by my book blog.

Here in the UK, it's just become trendy to reuse bags. I still have too many of them but the pile is going down!

  3. Thanks for visiting my blog!

I have one canvas bag that I've had for over 15 years that I use when I'm just grabbing a few things. It says "save Our Planet" and has a pic of the earth on it. I've been wanting to get more reusable shopping bags to use exclusively, but have been hesitant because I don't want Walmart steaming about me using Kroger bags. I've wondered about ordering a dozen or so large canvas bags from somewhere like oriental trading company to use. That way they aren't store specific.

  4. I have about 5 tote bags I use right now - 3 of them are from a local grocery store, the other two are just regular tote bags. I take the grocery store bags into whatever store I'm going into.
