April 3rd is Tweed Day. Although this holiday may have originated in the garment district, a more sinister start has been suggested. William Macy (Boss) Tweed, American politician and underworld figure, was born on April 3, 1823.
Regardless of its history, Tweed Day offers a timely reminder of spring closet cleaning. Have you stored your winter coats and sweaters yet, making room for warm-weather styles?
